Google doodle today celebrates the 161 anniversary of the German bacteriologist Julius Richard Petri and has 6 color plates of Google. When you play Google Doodle today, instead of the usual Google logo, see six plates in a row. Once you get the game revolves around a hand cleaning each dish.
Press the "magnifying glass" and then you can see Julius Richard Petri microbes that grow in each dish to spell the word Google. You can also hover over each Petri dish and it will appear when the microbe is not commonly encountered.
Julius Richard Petri was born May 31, 1853. In 1877, he invented the cylindrical glass surface while working as a lab assistant pioneer bacteriologist Robert Koch. Petri dishes are used by microbiologists for growing cell cultures.
